If you are applying for a Master’s degree, you must provide the legalisation of your Bachelor’s degree diploma and transcript of records.
-
There are three ways to obtain one of the legalised documents required to enrol at UNIPD:
Legalisation can be obtained at the Italian embassy or consulate of the country where the qualification has been awarded: a stamp will be placed on your documents. Often the legalisation is released together with the Study VISA, however we invite the students to check directly with the competent embassy or consulate to acknowledge the full procedure.
If the country where the qualification has been awarded is a member of the Hague Convention an Apostille must be affixed by competent authorities, instead of legalisation.
You can alternatively request the Statement of Verification issued by CIMEA (under payment) through a personal account on MyDiplome. For a step-by-step video tutorial on how to create your Diplome account and request the services of the CIMEA Centre, please click here.
No legalisation is required if your diploma has been issued in the following countries: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Ireland, Germany, Latvia (for documents released after 31/10/2010), Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland and Portugal.
-
Yes. The legalisation of documents is not required to apply to UniPD. Legalised documents must be provided only in case of admission and upon enrolment, according to the set deadlines.
-
In case you are admitted, you will have to upload upon enrolment (31st October at the latest) a coloured scanned copy (in PDF format) of ONE of: Legalisation, Apostille, CIMEA Statement of Verification.
-
The legalisation is released exclusively by the authority in the country where the qualification has been awarded.
-
You cannot obtain it as it is released exclusively if the country is part of The Hague Convention.
You must thus refer to the competent Italian embassy or consulate. Please also check the question “How can I legalise my documents”.
-
We invite you to contact the embassy/consulate to check if they are competent to legalise the documents, as you may be required to obtain an Apostille instead. You can also check by yourself whether your country belongs to the Convention and the responsible authority in this website: https://www.hcch.net/en/instruments/conventions/authorities1/?cid=41

-
You should check first whether the country where your qualification has been awarded belongs to the Bologna process. Check the member list at this link.
