Secondary School diploma / Bachelor’s Degree diploma

If your country is not mentioned in the PDF list, it means that no specific requirements applies to your entry title.

You must provide at least a proof of graduation officially issued by the competent office of your school/university and which clearly indicates the graduation date. You can provide for example:
- An interim/provisional/temporary graduation certificate;
- A letter released by an administrative official;
- the final transcript of grades and/or Diploma Supplement (for titles obtain within the Bologna process framework) indicating your graduation date and status.
The final diploma must then be provided as soon as obtained.

The deadline depends on the degree programme which you have been admitted to:
- 31 July for limited-access degree programmes;
- 30 September for unlimited access degree programmes.
Different deadlines, as per the relevant Call for admission, may apply to Italian taught Bachelor’s degree programmes and degree programmes with a national-based selection (e.g. Medicine and Surgery).
Transcript of records

Yes, you can apply with the most recent version of your transcript of records.
The document must be provided in the original version and officially translated either in English or Italian.

No, you cannot. You must apply with an official transcript of records, issued by your school/university.
If your school/university does not provide an official transcript before the end of your studies, you can upload a student copy of your transcript of records.

No, you cannot. You must comply with the GPA requirement at the time of your application.

Yes, the Diploma Supplement can substitute the Transcript of Records.
If you have a Diploma Supplement you can upload it in the “Transcript of Records” task of your application.
University Entrance Examination

No, you cannot. If the University Entrance Examination is mandatory to access Higher Education in your country, this requirement is a mandatory entry requirement at our University as well.
Advanced Placements (APs) and A-levels (ALs)

Yes, you can apply also if you have not yet obtained the AP scores. The APs must be provided within the deadlines set for the proof of graduation according to the degree programme which you have been admitted to.
You must obtain the APs in at least three different subjects related to the degree programme selected, with a score from 3 to 5. The exams report must be issued by the College Board.

If you have attended a Biritish Upper Secondary education curriculum, Yes, you are required to provide your (International) General Certificate of Education or at least a transcript indicating the subjects taken at Advanced level. The final certificate must be provided within the deadlines set for the proof of graduation according to the degree programme which you have been admitted to.
You must have successfully completed at least 3 subjects at an Advanced level passed with at least a minimum grade (passing grade – E).

Foundation course or 1-2 years of academic studies certificate

No, the University of Padua does not currently offer a Foundation Year.

No, you need at least 12 years of schooling.
The gap year can be fulfilled by one of the following options:
- you have attended at least 1 (in case of 11 years of schooling) or 2 (in case of 10 years of schooling) years of academic studies at Bachelor’s level and passed all the scheduled exams;
OR
- you have obtained a post-secondary qualification in a non-University higher education institution, certifying the additional one or two years of education;
OR
- you have successfully completed a one-year or a two-year preparatory courses (Foundation Year) offered by an Italian University.
Legalisation of Secondary School diploma / Bachelor’s degree diploma

If you are applying for a Bachelor’s degree, you must provide the legalisation of your Upper Secondary School diploma.
If you are applying for a Master’s degree, you must provide the legalisation of your Bachelor’s degree diploma and transcript of records.

There are three ways to have your documents legalised as required to enrol at UNIPD:
- Legalisation can be obtained at the Italian Embassy or Consulate of the country where the qualification has been awarded: a stamp will be placed on your documents. Often legalisation is released together with the Study visa, however we invite students to check directly with the competent Embassy or Consulate to acknowledge the full procedure.
- If the country where the qualification has been awarded is a member of the Hague Convention, an Apostille must be affixed by competent authorities, instead of legalisation. Electronic Apostilles (E-Apostille) are also accepted.
- You can alternatively request the Statement of Verification issued by CIMEA (upon payment) through a personal account on MyDiplome. You can find more information in the dedicated website. Enrolled students will be automatically reimbursed through the second or third instalment of university tuition fees, unless they benefit from full tuition fee-waivers or scholarships of any kind.
No legalisation is required if your diploma has been issued in one of the following countries: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Ireland, Germany, Latvia (for documents released after 31/10/2010), Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland and Portugal.

Yes, legalisation is required if you hold an International Baccalaureate (IB DP).

No, legalisation is NOT required if you hold a European Baccalaureate.
Please note that the European Baccalaureate is not any upper secondary education diploma obtained in a European country, it is a bilingual educational diploma that certifies the completion of secondary studies in a European School or Accredited European School by the Board of Governors of the dedicated intergovernmental organisation.

Yes. The legalisation of documents is not required to apply to UniPD.
Legalised documents must be provided only in case of admission and upon enrolment, according to the set deadlines.

In case you are admitted, you will have to upload upon enrolment (31st October at the latest) a coloured scanned copy (in PDF format) of ONE of the following: legalisation, Apostille, or CIMEA Statement of Verification.

The legalisation is issued exclusively by the authority in the country where the qualification has been awarded.

You cannot obtain an Apostille from a country that is not part of The Hague Convention.
You must therefore refer to the competent Italian embassy or consulate. Please also check the question “How can I legalise my documents”.

If the Admissions and Welcome Unit has requested the CIMEA Statement of Comparability of your study title, the deadline to upload this document depends on the degree programme which you have been admitted to:
- 31 July if you have been admitted to a limited-access degree programme
- 30 September if you have been admitted to an unlimited access degree programmes.
Different deadlines, may apply to Italian taught Bachelor’s degree programmes and degree programmes with a national-based selection (e.g. Medicine and Surgery). For more information, read the programme’s Call for Admission.

The Admissions and Welcome Unit may request the Statement of Comparability of your Upper secondary school diploma/Bachelor’s degree to verify your entry title.
The Statement of Comparability is issued upon payment by CIMEA (Italian Information Centre on Academic Mobility and Equivalence) through the portal MyDiplome. You can find more information in the dedicated website.
Application Fee

No, by paying a single application fee of 30 euros you can apply to up to three degree programmes.
If you meet any problem in paying the fee or you need help using PagoPA, please check the dedicated Payment guide.
If you are applying ONLY for one or more Bachelor’s degree programmes requiring the English TOLC-I test for admission, do NOT proceed with the payment of the Application Fee. Instead, register for the English TOLC-I test and pay the 30 Euro registration fee on the CISIA website.
If you are applying both to programmes requiring the English TOLC-I test AND to programmes that do not require the English TOLC-I test, you will have to pay BOTH the 30€ application fee and the TOLC-I registration fee.

The payment receipt can be found by opening the same link used to pay the application fee. On the bottom right corner, click on the red button “Receipt”. A PDF document will automatically be downloaded.

Other Documents
Passport

Yes, you can temporarily apply with a valid national ID card, provided that it is written using the Latin alphabet and/or officially translated in English or Italian.
Non-EU citizens must upload the passport copy as soon as it is available in order to finalise enrolment and apply for the Study visa.
EU citizens can apply either with their national ID card or with their passport.

Yes, you can upload a colour-scanned copy (in PDF format) of your expired passport and the official renewal request (along with an official translation in English or Italian if the document is issued in any other language). You must upload the copy of your new passport as soon as it is available.

Once you submit your application, it is no longer possible to edit any data in your profile. However, you can upload new documents: upload a coloured scanned copy of your new passport in the “Passport” task of your application and notify the Admissions and Welcome Unit.
Please note that it is enough just to upload your new passport, it is not necessary to update the related information in your application as the Admissions and Welcome Unite will just simply refer to the new document you uploaded.

Should you have a dual citizenship, including Italian or any EU citizenship, you must apply as a EU student since you are not required to apply for a Study visa.
Please note that you have to select both citizenships in the corresponding fields and upload both passports in the corresponding task.
Language requirement

English certificate is not mandatory at the application stage, but it is required for enrolment. The final deadline to present an accepted language certificate depends on the type of programme you are interested in:
- 31 July for Limited access degree programmes;
- 30 September for Unlimited access degree programmes.
These deadlines are final and cannot be extended.

If your previous education has been entirely taught in English, meaning all courses and all exams were held in English, you do not have to submit a language certificate. In this case, please submit an official document issued by your university/institution stating that your previous education was held entirely in English.

Yes, but remember that it is required for enrolment. Unless you are exempted, you can also book an Italian language interview at the University Language Centre (CLA).

If you failed the interview and you do not provide us with a valid Italian certification by the given deadline, you will not be able to finalise your enrolment.
We remind you that you can take the interview twice, on the condition that between the two interviews at least three months have passed.
Curriculum Vitae (CV)

No specific format is required although “Europass CV” format is suggested. The Curriculum Vitae is a written description of your work experience, educational background and skills (maximum 2 pages long).
Please note that in case you are applying for degree programme(s) held in:
- English language, the CV must be written in English;
- Italian language, the CV must be written in Italian.
Some specific formats are required for application in the master’s degree programmes taught in English in the Psychological field. You can check the question “Where can I find the Curriculum Vitae/Statement of Purpose template?”
Motivation letter

Yes, please write a different motivation letter (no longer than 1 page) for each programme you are applying for. Combine your motivation letter in one PDF file to be uploaded on the corresponding task.

Temporary Residence Permit

Yes, you can apply as long as the Residence Permit is valid for enrolment to a degree programme and it has not expired yet.
Please note that some Residence Permits do not allow enrolment in a degree programme; in this case, you will be required to apply for a new Study visa in your country of residence.
The Admissions and Welcome unit will verify your Residence Permit at application stage and will provide you with further information on the correct procedure to be followed.

Yes, please upload a scanned coloured copy of the Residence Permit request and specify the purpose of the Permit. You have time until enrolment to obtain the permit.

If you are a non-EU student residing outside of Italy, the Residence Permit is not required at application stage.
In case of admission and after have obtained your Study visa, you will need to apply for a Residence Permit within 8 working days from your arrival to Italy.
Specific tasks for degree programmes in Psychology, Economics and for Bachelor's degree programmes

No, we only accept letters and documents uploaded in the corresponding task on the application platform. We will not accept letters or documents submitted in any other way.

No, the GMAT/GRE is not mandatory for any of our Degree Programmes.
Some degree programmes give priority to candidates who hold a GMAT/GRE test result.
These degree programmes are:
- Accounting, Finance and Business Consulting;
- Applied Economics;
- Management for Sustainable Firms.
For more information, kindly refer to the dedicated task on the application platform.

Yes, you can upload the GMAT/GRE unofficial scores, however upon enrolment you must present the official scores.

Programmes requiring a specific template will include the same in the Call for admission. You can also download it from the relative task in the application platform.
The programmes that require a specific template for the Curriculum Vitae to be filled are:
- Clinical, Social and Intercultural Psychology
- Cognitive Neuroscience and Clinical Neuropsychology
- Developmental and Educational Psychology
The degree programme in Development and Educational Psychology requires also a specific template for the Statement of Purpose.

The TOLC (CISIA Online Test) is an individual test required for admission to most bachelor’s degree and it must be sat on the computer.
At present, there are 8 types of TOLCs:
- TOLC-I: to access programmes in Engineering and Science fields;
- TOLC-E: to access programmes in the fields of Economy, Science, Agriculture, Law;
- TOLC-AV: to access programmes in the fields of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine;
- TOLC-SU: to access programmes in the fields of Humanities, Political Sciences, Law, Psychology;
- English TOLC-I: to access English-taught degree programmes in Information Engineering and Biology of Human and Environmental Health.
The specific TOLC to be sat depends on the degree programme to which you intend to apply to. Please read the specific Call for application to check whether and which TOLC you may be required to present.
Given the ongoing health emergency, the University of Padua has welcomed the initiative TOLC @CASA, which allows students to sit the TOLC in a virtual classroom. Candidates can sit the test at their house, thereby maintaining social distancing and staying safe.
