MERIT-BASED SCHOLARSHIPS
Padua International Excellence scholarships, Departmental scholarships and 100 full tuition fee-waivers

You will be automatically considered for the selection procedure to assign merit based economic benefits if you meet the following requirements:
- do not possess an Italian citizenship (except for dual citizenship including Italian);
- hold a non-Italian entry qualification;
- do not reside in Italy;
- apply to one or more degree programmes completely taught in English at the University of Padua.
There is no separate application or additional specific documents to be submitted besides those required to apply for the English-taught degree programme of your interest.

Selection results will be published at www.unipd.it/en/assessement-results according to the timeline indicated in the Call for application.

No, the admission offer refers only to your admission for the degree programme you have applied for.
If you meet the requirements of the merit-based Padua International Excellence Scholarship, the Departmental Scholarship and the 100 full tuition fee-waivers, the results will be published at www.unipd.it/en/assessement-results according to the timeline indicated in the Call for application.

Usually, scholarships results are published before the admission offer deadline, so that you can take a decision accordingly. Nevertheless, please make sure to meet the payment deadline.
The admission fee cannot be postponed for any reasons and must be paid by the set deadline.

Yes, the admission fee is compulsory for all students.

You will receive the first instalment upon your arrival in Padua, after finalising your enrolment.

Merit based scholarships/fee-waivers are offered for a specific degree programme. Therefore, if you decide to enrol in another degree programme you will lose the scholarship eligibility.

Reimbursement of travel, accommodation, insurance or other expenses is not included in these scholarships and will not be covered by the University of Padua.

You can apply for different scholarship opportunities. However, in case you are awarded more than one grant, you must choose which one to accept. Scholarships cannot be combined with any other grant awarded by other public institutions.
You can apply for any mobility programme, as well as any internship or job opportunity. If you are a non-EU student residing in Italy with a residence permit for study purposes, you can work up to 20 hours per week.

The merit conditions required to maintain the scholarships are detailed in the Call for application, which is available at: www.unipd.it/en/scholarships-international-students. You are required to reach a specific amount of credits (ECTS) by a specific deadline.
Padua International Excellence Scholarships can be renewed for a maximum duration of 2 continuous years for master’s degree students and 3 continuous years for bachelor’s and single-cycle degree students.

The fee-waiver can be renewed for the second year and for the third year – for Bachelor’s and Single Cycle degree students only – upon the achievement of the merit requirements indicated at: https://www.unipd.it/en/fee-waivers

If you have been awarded the MAECI scholarship or the Invest Your Talent in Italy scholarship, the University of Padua will exempt you from the payment of tuition fees.
Instead, the Galilean School of Higher Education scholarship does not include a tuition fee-waiver BUT you can apply for a fee-waiver opportunity.
The first instalment (i.e. admission fee) is compulsory for all candidates.
