Double Degree in Europe
Before the Mobility
-
Yes, completing the learning agreement is mandatory for everyone. You can find the guide on this page. The learning agreement is an agreement between the student and the University of Padua, which certifies the activities that our university undertakes to recognize. This document therefore protects the interests of students and it is important that it is filled out very carefully.
-
The deadlines are as follows:
- by June 15th: for students leaving in the first semester.
- by October 15th: for students leaving in the second semester.
Please note that these are the deadlines for the first submission on Uniweb, the LA can also be approved later.
-
You need to contact the responsible professor for the approval of the OLA or your Department.
-
Both versions are valid, as long as it is in the European format and has been approved by the professor in Padua and counter-signed by the partner university.
-
Refer to the information in the learning agreement compilation guide, the video tutorial, and the page dedicated to the learning agreement. You can also refer to the information that was provided during the OLA presentation meetings and contact your Department in case of doubts.
-
They can be found on Mediaspace’s Studying Abroad channel. In case of doubts, you can refer to your Department.
-
Following the allocation of the mobility placement and the student’s acceptance, your Department will communicate the student’s name to the partner university during the dedicated period of time; this process is known as Nomination.
-
After the student’s Nomination, the partner university generally contacts the student and provides all the instructions to proceed with the enrollment phase at the partner university (Application).
In some cases, however, the student must proceed independently following the instructions on the partner university’s website.
-
The Declaration of Double Degree Student Status (also known as Nomination Letter) is issued by the Mobility Unit (Central Office) and the successful students will receive it upon signing the grant agreement. If the document is requested by the partner university or necessary for other pre-departure procedures, it is possible to request it through the contact form here.
-
You can request the Transcript of Records to the Ufficio Carriere Studenti, for additional information: https://www.unipd.it/certificati
-
The grant agreement will be sent close to the start of the mobility, only after the Learning Agreement in Uniweb is approved and if at least 40 credits are registered on Uniweb (this last rule does NOT apply to students of master’s degree courses).
-
Close to departure you will receive an email with instructions for signing the grant agreement, which will be available on Mobility Online. If no notifications are made to modify the grant agreement, a link will be sent via email a few days later to sign the agreement; it is recommended to have the telephone associated to the number entered in the grant agreement form.
-
The grant agreement will be sent shortly before the start of the mobility, only after the Learning Agreement in Uniweb is approved and if at least 40 credits are registered on Uniweb (this last rule does NOT apply to students of master’s degree courses).
-
Yes, when the credits have been registered on Uniweb and the Learning Agreement is approved, you can sign the grant agreement.
-
If the departure is within 15 days before or after the mobility start date included in the Grant agreement, it is NOT necessary to request a new financial contract.
If the student plans to leave more than 15 day before or after mobility start date included in the Grant agreement, the student must inform the Mobility Office here.
-
The mobility end date is a mere calculation of the months of scholarship starting from the mobility start date indicated in the grant agreement. The actual calculation of the mobility days will be based on the start and end dates of the mobility reported in the Attendance Certificate issued by the partner.
-
You can use the IBAN of an Italian bank account registered or jointly registered under the name of the student. The Flash Studio student card can also be used; you must activate it before you can receive payments, for further information: https://www.unipd.it/cartaflash.

In the case of mobility within the EU, basic health insurance coverage is usually provided by the National Health Service through the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC). However, for specific services, additional private health insurance may be required.
-
The students regularly enrolled at the University of Padua are covered by accident and civil liability insurance https://www.unipd.it/assicurazione even during the completion of agreed activities at foreign locations. However, supplemental insurance may still be necessary and we recommend promptly verifying with the host university.
