The Academic year starts in <strong>October<\/strong>. Please note that it is not possible to join our University outside of this intake.<\/p>\n<p>Visit our <a href=\"https:\/\/apply.unipd.it\"><span style=\"color: #9b0013;\"><strong>application platform<\/strong><\/span><\/a> to find out when to apply.<\/p>\t\t\t    <\/div>\n                                                \n                    <\/div>\n                <\/li>\n                            <li aria-expanded=\"false\">\n                    <div class=\"accordion-title\">\n                        <a href=\"#\">\n                                                        \t\t\t    <span class=\"tb_title_accordion\">Can I join the University during the spring semester?<\/span>\n                        <\/a>\n                    <\/div>\n                    <div class=\"accordion-content clearfix  default-closed\">\n                        \t\t\t    <div  class=\"tb_text_wrap\">\n\t\t\t\t<p><strong>No<\/strong>, it is not possible to join during the spring semester.<\/p>\n<p>Our University only has one intake per year which is always in <strong>October<\/strong>.<\/p>\t\t\t    <\/div>\n                                                \n                    <\/div>\n                <\/li>\n                            <li aria-expanded=\"false\">\n                    <div class=\"accordion-title\">\n                        <a href=\"#\">\n                                                        \t\t\t    <span class=\"tb_title_accordion\">What is the difference between the calls for applications?<\/span>\n                        <\/a>\n                    <\/div>\n                    <div class=\"accordion-content clearfix  default-closed\">\n                        \t\t\t    <div  class=\"tb_text_wrap\">\n\t\t\t\t<p>Calls for applications do not differ in terms of requirements.<\/p>\n<p>The main difference concerns some of the <strong>merit-based scholarships<\/strong> (i.e. Padua International Excellence scholarships, Departmental scholarships, 100 full tuition fee-waivers), which may be assigned to international students who apply to English-taught programmes during <strong>Call One<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>All programmes will open for a <strong>Call One<\/strong>.<br \/>Some programmes may also open for a <strong>Call Two<\/strong> depending on availability of seats.<br \/>An additional call for EU and equated students may open in the Summer.<\/p>\n<p>Limited access degree programmes usually have only one call for applications: different calls may apply depending on the students\u2019 citizenship, residence (EU and equated and NON-EU residing in Italy vs. NON-EU residing outside Italy) and entry qualification. You are a citizen of one of the countries that are currently part of the European Union<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; You are a citizen of the Republic of San Marino, Switzerland, Vatican City, Iceland, Lichtenstein or Norway<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; You have dual citizenship and one of them is Italian, from an EU country or from one of the countries listed above<\/p>\n<p>You are considered an <strong>EU-equated student<\/strong> if:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; You hold a valid Italian residence permit*: this must be valid for enrollment to a degree programme and it must not have expired<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; You hold valid EU long-term residence permit**<\/p>\n<p>* Some residence permits do not allow enrolment in a degree programme; in this case, you will be required to apply for a new study visa in your country of residence. Which one should I consider?<\/span>\n                        <\/a>\n                    <\/div>\n                    <div class=\"accordion-content clearfix  default-closed\">\n                        \t\t\t    <div  class=\"tb_text_wrap\">\n\t\t\t\t<p>By law, you must apply with your <strong>EU citizenship<\/strong>.<\/p>\t\t\t    <\/div>\n                                                \n                    <\/div>\n                <\/li>\n                            <li aria-expanded=\"false\">\n                    <div class=\"accordion-title\">\n                        <a href=\"#\">\n                                                        \t\t\t    <span class=\"tb_title_accordion\">What is the difference between limited and open access programmes?<\/span>\n                        <\/a>\n                    <\/div>\n                    <div class=\"accordion-content clearfix  default-closed\">\n                        \t\t\t    <div  class=\"tb_text_wrap\">\n\t\t\t\t<p>Degree programmes with <strong>open access<\/strong> do not have a maximum number of places available for enrolment. Please note that admission to <strong>open access<\/strong> degree programmes is NOT automatic: applying to one of these programmes will NOT guarantee admission.<br \/>Only students deemed <strong>eligible<\/strong> by the Academic Committee can be admitted and eventually enrol in the programme.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Limited access<\/strong> degree programmes have a maximum number of places available for enrolment. This number varies according to each degree programme. For such reason, a <strong>call for applications <\/strong>is published, detailing the number of places available (further specifying those available for EU and equated and for NON-EU students residing outside Italy) and the admission procedure. <br \/>A specific score is assigned to each applicant and is used to determine a <strong>ranking list<\/strong>. Only students with a good enough placement in the ranking list, as per the call for applications , can be admitted and can eventually enrol. The ranking list may also be drawn according to the results of an <strong>entry test<\/strong>. <br \/>Students who are not admitted are placed in a <strong>waiting list<\/strong>: in case of withdrawals, the places left available are assigned to the next eligible candidates in the waiting list. Can I transfer to Padua?<\/span>\n                        <\/a>\n                    <\/div>\n                    <div class=\"accordion-content clearfix  default-closed\">\n                        \t\t\t    <div  class=\"tb_text_wrap\">\n\t\t\t\t<p>If you already study Medicine at another University, you can apply for the Single cycle degree programme in Medicine and Surgery in Padua for years subsequent to the first.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Medicine and Surgery is a <strong>limited <\/strong><b>access degree programme<\/b>: admission to a year subsequent to the first can be granted on the basis of prior recognition of exams taken abroad.<\/p>\n<p>The transfer <b>IS NOT automatic<\/b> as it depends on <b>the following:<\/b><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>1. <b>Number of places available:\u202f<\/b> <br \/>This varies every year but availability is normally very limited. Please check the relevant <a href=\"http:\/\/www.unipd.it\/avvisi-ammissione-lauree-triennali-ciclo-unico\">call for applications<\/a>\u00a0to verify availability. By way of example for the Academic year 2024\/25 we had only 2 places available for applications to the fourth year for the English-taught degree programme.<\/li>\n<li>2. <b>Credits recognition request:\u202f<\/b> <br \/>The first step is to submit the <b>application for the recognition of previous exams<\/b> by following a dedicated procedure, which usually opens from mid-June to mid-July by following the instructions given here:<a href=\"http:\/\/www.unipd.it\/en\/credit-recognition\"> www.unipd.it\/en\/credit-recognition<\/a>.
