Accomodation, packing & preparation
Going abroad for your studies is an exciting adventure, and being prepared for it makes it even better. Find here some tips to help you get settled and make sure you’re fully prepared for your studies abroad:
How do I find accomodation abroad?
You have to find an accomodation by yourself. Many host universities offer student dorms or useful information and assistance in finding accommodation during the application phase. Do not hesitate to check their website or contact their international office to have clear information.
The cost of an accomodation depends on the country, city, type of housing and the specific area.
What should I pack for my exchange?
Packing depends on your destination and needs, but here are the essentials:
- Important documents – Passport/ID, visa, insurance documents TIPS: make a soft copy of your important documents to have with you, just in case!
- Clothing – Check the local climate and pack accordingly. Don’t forget comfortable shoes for visiting.
- Electronics – Laptop, chargers, adapters (check the country’s plug type), and maybe a local SIM card.
- Basic necessities – Some dorms may not provide bedding, so you should check in advance.
- Money and banking – Bring an international bank card, and check if you need to open a local bank account.
- Medications – Check for any restriction on medication at the host country and prepare in advance
