A Residence Permit for study reasons has a limited validity.
To extend your stay in Italy, you will need to renew your Residence Permit.
To renew your Residence Permit you will need to collect a dedicated “kit” which is available at Post Offices (Ufficio Postale).
You will then need to fill in the documents contained in the kit and hand the kit over to a Post Office.

IMPORTANT: If you have completed your studies and you wish to remain in Italy further to work, you will need to apply for a conversion of your Residence Permit.
If you wish to apply for conversion of your residence Permit, book an appointment using the SAOS information service.
The SAOS desk organises individual meetings during which students will receive instructions on how to correctly fill in the documents to request the renewal of their Residence Permit.
These meetings will be held in presence in Padua.
IMPORTANT: Only students who have collected the kit at the Postal Office can take part in these meetings.
