Non-European Union nationals or stateless people need a residence permit for study purposes if they want to attend University courses for more than three months.
The final step to obtain a Residence Permit requires an appointment at the Police Headquerters (Questura) at Palazzo Bo.
During this appointment the Police will interview you and check your documents.
This appointment is mandatory to obtain the Residence Permit.

Questura appointments will be held in presence at the Questura office located in Palazzo Bo.
The day of the appointment, you will need to submit the following documents:
- 4 passport-size photographs;
- the original copies of the documents you sent with the kit;
- your passport;
- the residence permit postal receipt.
